Terry's art began as a youngster when exploring his backyard was a daily adventure of discovery. This internationally acclaimed painter looks for the special, transitory and magical moments in nature which appear with the right lighting, color and atmospheric condition. Although he has a formal art education he says that his major influences have come from observing wildlife first hand. Terry travels around the world to capture unique characteristics of wildlife and their habitat but his main focus continues to be North American birds and mammals. He is inspired by large panoramic landscapes and by subjects ranging from whales to hummingbirds.
During his successful 20 year professional career Terry has been the featured "Artist of the Year" at a number of prestigious art shows and expos. Isaac has placed in 12 stamp and print competitions. He has been commissioned to create for the Audubon Society handbooks and hired to develop the main character in a Walt Disney production. His works are housed in permanent collections at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, First National Bank of South Africa and in private and corporate collections around the world.
Originally from the Willamette Valley of Oregon, Isaac now lives with his wife and children in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada. He has continued to draw inspiration from his own backyard as well as the captivating vistas of the West and North West. Terry continues to create realistic wildlife art with a focus on particularity and dramatic light. This is very evident in this particular painting titled, "Dusting Off". This Terry Isaac painting will be in the upcoming Jackson Hole Art Auction on September 19, 2009.
